symmetry boehm-clarinet

symmetry is to play always with all the levers and fingerings your instrument provide. Always be aware to change left-right sides and need the easiest way for every  musical passage.

Eb-lever left hand            Eb-lever right hand

- the Eb-lever left

- the ring for the third left hand finger(fork Eb/Bb)

- the use of the trill- levers

- the supportfinger-technic

gives you many new possibilities to make difficult "passages" easier.

Since Baerman, the great clarinet player,  wrote exercises for the change from the chalumeau to clarion, therefore he marked the supportfinger in his exercises with

* ------- * as this is pressing down during this phrase.

For a good technic, the supportfinger is pressing  the note (=Lever) during the phrase.
