The Beckie Becker Quartett (BBQ) was founded in 1964. It became well-known at Mönchengladbach with numerous gigs in the clubs of the British RAF Germany (Royal Air Force) an other jazzclubs in North Rhine-Wesphalia germany and by playing at the 1967-Jazzfestival of Beek en Donk in the Netherlands.

A reunion of members of the former jazzgroup Karl-Heinz "Beckie" Becker and Reinhard Schmitz took place in 2007, joined with new musicians: Peter Schleußer on bass and Christian Hülsmann, an extraordinary young drummer (now life at cologne)

During the last years the group became more and more appreciated by jazz lovers of the region. The new CD "Jazz Vibration" offers a broad stylistic range from the styles of Lionel Hampton to the sounds of Dave Pike Set or Herbie Mann. All compositions are written by Reinhard Schmitz in different Styles form mainstream to modern tunes.Look on channel "klarinette06" at youtube.com , you will find some nice clips there.

It's a lot of fun to reduce a komplex composition like "die Moldau" from smetana as a five minute "Miniatur" for soloclarinet.

three little motives works together. The idea comes to me while I heard the "cigales" in france.
